The Music of My Heart

Cheesy title, cheesier edit. Hearts courtesy of David Castillo Dominici.

Juke Bob

Bob was this crazy Frenchman (badly) singing punk songs for free at a colleague's restaurant. He was a blast, even though the music became kind of awful after a while.

The Hole

Crappy title, yeah, I know. I just wanted to try something else.

Four String Serenade

I plagiarised a Mazzy Star song for the title.
I'm not entirely satisfied with this. I'm sure I could have done something else to make it work, but I don't know what.

East Harlem

I had this song in my head all day. It's a pretty neat tune.
As most of Beirut's songs and videos are/look nostalgic/oldish, I went for an old summer feel... Not sure if that's what comes through!

Les Accordeonistes

On our way to the cafe, we saw those two guys sitting there, busking. It’s a rare sight nowadays outside of Paris, so I took a snap. I used not to like accordion, but now I appreciate it more.

Teenager

I help some kids after work everyday with their homework and stuff. This was taken in the room of one of those boys. It shows the priorities are still the same as when I was a kid: music and accessories.

Tro

Typical local instrument, hanging from a wall. It resembles a violin.

Hands

One of the few pictures I'm actually okay with from all the ones I took at the PPHO gig tonight at The Equinox. The blur shows the movement, the rhythm, the quickness of the gesture.

Le Jardin

Picture taken during the Phnom Penh Hippie Orchestra gig, in which my hubby was playing. Very nice atmosphere, good crowd. Turns out one of our colleagues owns the place. Such a small world.

Uke

New uke too, for hubby. The picture doesn't really do the instrument justice, it's gorgeous and has a lovely sound.
Post-treatment: slight contrast and brightness added.

Chill 'N' Ill

Me today, resting, with a cold, listening to music. Natural light.
Post-treatment: crop.
