A Taste of Summer

Using close-ups to showcase a few fruit from my MIL’s garden.

Little Chair

My MIL has this tiny chair at home... Somehow, it doesn’t appear as small because I’m pretty small myself...

Reflection

Cannot come up with a better title... but I’m glad the camera doesn’t show.

Fog-Like

There was a little bit of steam on the outside of the window, giving this almost surreal, winter-like aspect to the view. The streetlamp looked like a giant, greenish moon.

Panache Aristocrat

Just a bit of fun with a non-alcoholic beer top.

Rose

Wanted to do a close-up in colour but the colours actually didn’t come out well, so I turned to B&W. I’m glad I did – the drops stand out a lot more.

Scissors

I look like a demented, female version of Edward Scissorhands with horns on my head.
First take, SOOC. Pretty happy with it as I didn’t have any viewfinder to look at!

Trappe

Taken in my SIL’s garden. It’s a tiny trap door on the ground. I found this cool effect by mistake and just kept it.

Led Zepellin V

When I took this picture, my husband said it looked like the cover of a LZ album. When pressed for a title, that’s what he came up with. He used to be a big Led Zep fan.

Apostrophe

Apostrophes are commas hanging in the air.
I tried to do something for this one too, but I’m not entirely satisfied with it.

Japanesing

Tried to do something, but the result came out blurred. I like the dreamy aspect of it though. And the pseudo Asian wallpaper.

The Hollow of the Tree

Something happened when I saw that tree. Immediately, I had the picture and title in mind, just the way it is now... Wish I had more “flashes” like that.
The title sounds mysterious to me, almost like the name of a novel.

Campagne

On the way home, we stopped at a rest area. This was the view. I chose a widescreen setting to showcase the scenery a bit more.

Le Miroir

Tried something else... not showing my camera. I didn’t have much time, and the mirror was dusty. Plus, I cut the top off, and I look kind of crazy. For a change.

At the Mini-Golf

We tried something new: mini-golfing! It was quite fun, and for once, something was the right size for me! Enjoyed it a lot.

Les Accordeonistes

On our way to the cafe, we saw those two guys sitting there, busking. It’s a rare sight nowadays outside of Paris, so I took a snap. I used not to like accordion, but now I appreciate it more.

Ladybird

One of my nieces was there too, and she’s got such... bratittude!! She’s gonna take over from me, I can feel it. She’s the future of bratism.
Fits into DS#613 in a very funny way (http://dailyshoot.com/assignments/613).

Biography

I’m a big fan of Waits and have been reading this book during the holidays. It might look like a “product placement” type of picture but it’s actually a very good read, very informative, and Waits’ life is very inspiring. Here too I wanted something different, hence the editing.

Tournesols

I have more time now to mess around with pictures so I decided to try something something other than the usual colour picture of sunflowers. I used desaturisation in order to make the picture old, added a blurry border... it has an old postcard feel I find.

Rockabili

Finally, I met my first fellow Flickr member!! Rockabili, as well as taking inspiring pictures and videos, is cute (as you can see) and a very nice person. We had a really good time together, and I hope we’ll meet again.

Fun With A Flower

Excuse the title. I tried doing something a little bit different. In turn shy, crazy, glamour and... er, something.

Christ

One of the featured monuments we have here, proof that some time ago, people were quite religious. I suspect they’re not as religious now.
Turns out it fits right into DS#610 (http://dailyshoot.com/assignments/610)

Puddles

Even though it looks cold and grey, it was actually fairly sunny and nice. I wanted to use B&W for a change. I liked the puddles and when this guy came and started playing with his reflection... the picture kind of took itself.

14 juillet

My camera and computer are still on Cambodian time, that’s why this picture technically was taken on the 14th of July for Bastille Day, but the info gives the 15th of July as being the actual date.
I know there are a lot of firework pictures out there, but I quite like this one. The light, the movement, the reflection on the water, the silhouettes... I’m quite pleased with this picture.

Oyster Shell

The mermaids had dinner on the beach last night. We found this empty oyster, crab claws, empty cockles and other evidence that a feast took place. The view must have been wonderful.

Bass Heroine

The first instrument I learnt to play “for real”, more or less. Now my nephew has it. After years of not practising, my playing was not very fluid. My hubby did a much better job!

Couleur Cafe

Those past few days, I’ve gone back to drinking a small cup of coffee after lunch. It’s not so much that I like it, but it’s a way to relax with my in-laws. It’s not what it is, but rather what it symbolises. It reminds me of the novel “Kitchen” by Banana Yoshimoto. It’s based on the same principle.

One of the numerous landscapes we drove by. I especially liked this one as you can see the bales of hay and the promise of autumn already there.

Well

Taken in my SIL's garden. I noticed I have been using B&W a lot lately. I like it.
I won't be posting for at least 2 weeks as I am going somewhere where internet access is not readily available... but I'll be taking lots of pictures regardless.

Part of my husband's family comes from St Barth's. They have lots of things from there. This hangs in our bedroom in France, right above our bed.
